Relay For Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Relay is staffed and coordinated by volunteers in more than 5,200 communities and 20 countries. Volunteers give of their time and effort because they believe it's time to take action against cancer.
Join us at these events to bring communities together to remember loved ones lost, honor survivors of all cancers, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society make a global impact on cancer.
Fit4Lyfe is looking for TEN volunteers to help us participate in this event. You will be asked to walk for 2-hours, sometime between 4PM on the 25th to 8AM on the 26th. (We're flexible... ANY amount of your time is very much appreciated and we'll work around your schedule.)
This year's THEME is TV/Movies and we are asking you to join our Fit4Lyfe NINJA WARRIOR Team on March 25 - 26 as we walk and raise awareness. Our Team Captain, Mari McDonnell, will be leading us through this event. More details at: http://bit.ly/F4LRelayForLife.
If you are able to walk, PLEASE click on JOIN MY TEAM and follow the steps from there.
If you are unable to walk, no problem... ANY donation is much appreciated as well! Nothing is too small to help those in need. <3 You can click on the DONATE option to complete your donation.

WHAT IS RELAY FOR LIFE?
Relay is a team fundraising event where team members take turns walking around a track or designated path. Each event is 6-24 hours in length and each team is asked to have a member on the track at all times to signify that cancer never sleeps. Cancer patients don't stop because they're tired, and for one night, neither do we.
Each team sets up a themed campsite at the event and continues their fundraising efforts by collecting donations for food, goods, games, and activities. This money will count towards their overall team fundraising goal.
More Details
Relay For Life is a grass roots, community-based team event.
Every Relay has different components, but here are a few things they all have in common:
Time:
We'll kick off the event by celebrating everyone who's been affected by cancer. Whether someone's been diagnosed for 10 days or been cancer-free for 10 years, they gather together for the crowd to cheer them on.
SURVIVORS LAP
Time:
Survivors define courage and inspire those facing a cancer diagnosis. Their strength is honored with each step they take around the first lap. If you know anyone who's overcome cancer, invite them to join.
CAREGIVERS LAP
Time:
Caring for others is such a selfless act, which is why we honor caregivers with a lap. They often walk with the person they've supported.
LUMINARIA CEREMONY
Time:
Each Luminaria bag represents a loved one lost to cancer, brings support to those affected by it, and honors survivors. This powerful moment gives people the opportunity to grieve but also offers hope and comfort.
CLOSING CEREMONY
Time:
We celebrate all that we've accomplished together and remember those we've lost. Together, we commit to take action and help end the pain and suffering of cancer.
